Emerson Takes on Destination Imagination @ Northern Illinois University!

Destination Imagination or DI, is a community-based, school friendly, competitive, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) program.

DI builds and stretches skills in innovation, creative problem solving, decision-making, and teamwork in enjoyable and meaningful ways.

It incorporates STEAM-based challenges are open-ended and enable students to learn and experience the creative process while fostering students’ creativity, curiosity and courage!

This past weekend, our students took on this challenge this past Saturday, 4/6!

A few of our Emerson students headed to Northern Illinois University where they chose a piece of art and wrote an 8-minute skit which incorporated the piece of art into the skit.

They also had to create a piece of kinetic art and include it in the performance.

Our students independently took the lead and came up with all of the costume ideas and created all of the scenery.

Shout out to our staff, Ms. Wasielewski & Ms. Kuttenberg for leading our wonderful Destination Imagination club!
