Greetings Emerson Elementary School community,

We are excited to begin another amazing year at Emerson Elementary School where we continue our commitment to helping students grow their learning in the core subjects (Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Science) and in extra-curricular areas (Art, Music, and Physical Education). Several teaching strategies are implemented during classes along with the use of 1:1 technology for students. We also individualize learning within extra support periods to assist children in meeting and exceeding their academic and social goals.

Each year we work with staff, students, and families to build on Emerson’s amazing positive, safe and supportive school environment thru our CLR and PBIS programs: CLR Culturally and Linguistically Responsive, Teaching and Learning and P.B.I.S. Positive, Behavior, Intervention, Supports. Both help us to boost academic and social engagement in and out of the classroom thru consistent practice, clear expectations, regular acknowledgement, and attainable-fun rewards.

Students and staff alike highly anticipate the return of our enrichment and athletic programs: the F.L.Y. program, Whole Kids Gardening program, the Museum of Science and Industry School Partners Program, Destination Imagination, the Math/Reading club, Literacy Club, WozEd Tech. Club, Boys and Girls: Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, and Cross-country just to name a few. Parents will also be able to partner with us for our many school and district seasonal events!

We are fortunate to have the opportunity to work with your child/children and entire family this year. Together, we will support our District’s mission to empower, educate, and inspire students to achieve personal excellence in a multi-cultural society. Here’s to a great 2022-2023 school year. Go Eagles!

Sincerely,

Principal
